Don’t Ask Me That Question

riding-to-a-callIt’s hard for someone who is not an emergency responder to understand what one truly is, what one truly does. It’s not always what it looks like, and civilians don’t know what they don’t know.

J.C. is a career firefighter who is asked – again – about the worst thing he’s ever seen. His answer, posted on FireRescue1.com, brings to bear the weight that is carried by our First Responders.

“I turn to my only friend in this group and ask, ‘What do you think about when you drive to work?’ He replies, ‘I fr1 logoreally don‘t know … I just listen to the radio.’ The group all nods their heads in agreement. ‘When I drive to work…'”
